Weekend Reflections

What a weekend!! I had such an inspiring weekend and am I filled with awe, appreciation, gratitude and excitement for this time that we are living in!

The husband and I kicked of our weekend with a visit to South Africa's biggest Agricultural Trade Show - NAMPO on Friday. All this "stadsjapie", the afrikaans word for city-slicker, can say is WOW! The implements, product development and growth is amazing and I was stunned at what methods are being used to improve and grow our agricultural industry. After the show we went to visit the husband's uncle on his farm, Baltuspoort, just outside Viljoenskroon, a small Freestate town, and I was yet again left in awe in seeing and experiencing such a rich family and South African heritage that was unknown to me.

The highlight of my weekend however was a night out to Odd Cafe in Greenside. A group of us went for dinner and watched a live music performance by Stefan Dixon - a great South African musician from Cape Town. Be it the songs he sang, the street cafe environment, yummy food and wine, good company or a combination of it all - this night definitely ranks on my top list for the year!

Here is a song by Stefan, Lets build a world - I absolutely love it!

Have a great week dear readers and may you always find inspiration in the little things in life!

Beautiful Monday

Something nice for a Monday. This is a song for the broken hearts, the people walking around with rose coloured glasses and anyone who have ever been in love, lost a great love or who are currently in love...

Patrick Park's You were always the One; so beautiful! I hope it speaks to your heart the way it has spoken to mine.

Here are the lyrics, in case you want them:

I've been stuck in my ways
I've been rollin through days
Always afraid that things might get better
I've been traveling down this road liven free I suppose
All the while feelin tired and tethered

And I don't understand while I play these games and I trade the truth for lies
Cuz you're always the one I was looking for babe, it just took time to realize

I've scrummed it away on the brightest of days
Always had trouble keeping on the level
And I made a big show of lepton ya go
God knows I was some kind of devil
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsty.com/patrick-park-you-were-always-the-one-lyrics.html ]
And I don't understand while I play these games and I trade the truth for lies
Cuz you're always the one I was looking for babe, it just took time to realize

It's the hardest thing by far, to see who we are
And then let the whole thing go

And float like the leaves and hang on the wind
Whichever way it blows

Now mistakes it's true I've made more than a few
and I'm goin to make many others
And it's hard to see why we go through this sometimes
All the things that we do to each other

And I don't understand while I play these games and I trade the truth for lies
Cuz you're always the one I was looking for babe, it just took time to realize

Twinkle twinkle little star

This is so beautiful. The most amazing time lapse video of the Milky Way by Terje Sorgjerd.

It makes me feel small and insignificant.

Because the music in this video adds to the beauty of the time lapse I have to reference it_ music is by Ludovico Einaudi, the song is called "Nuvole bianche".
