I attended a very inspiring talk and personal documentary on Massimo and Lella Vignelli at the
Design Indaba in Cape Town in the beginning of this year and for some reason I am reverting back to that talk today. Not sure why, but I have been thinking about what was said and presented lately and I find it amazing how this design couple created some of the most well known designs in the world. Simple, logical approaches with bold, striking and strong end results.
Although their work mainly concerns more Graphic design and 2D composition they have also explored architecture and product design over the years and therefore the main principals of their design work can be universally applied in any creative or design industry.

San Lorenzo Necklace_ Lella was wearing this masterpiece at the talk in Cape Town and I could not take my eyes off it - it is beautiful!
St. Peter's Church, NYC - Vignelli Associates were involved in the interior design of this church and by introducing modular systems and clever storage designs they created a beautiful and functional space.
In my searches on this husband and wife team this morning, I was fortunate enough to stumble onto a small section of the
documentary that was presented to us in Cape Town earlier this year - if you can, take some time to watch this and I hope you find it as inspiring as I did. Perhaps you will even make the effort or have the opportunity to view the full documentary somewhere.
