DIY Thursday_ Gallery Wall Tutorial

We all like the gallery wall - the wall where we display a combination of words, photographs, artworks and prints. We have seen it a million times and know that only a few people get it right.

Today I am sharing a blogpost from a.steed's.life on how to get it right.

Here are a few inspiriing ideas, all from Pinterest.

Consider using shelves to display your gallery wall

Choose a colour scheme to create unity

Perhaps a theme makes it easier for you?

If you want something a bit more formal, try this layout

Don't omit the idea of hanging a gallery of mirrors!

Perhaps this post will inspire you to make a succesful gallery wall for your own home.

Mirror mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?

I urgently need a mirror above my dressing table in my bedroom and trust me, its not due to me just not getting round to buying a mirror - I want something specific. I bought a mirror for this spot ages ago, but once my husband put it onto the wall we immediately knew I made a mistake with this purchase. So I took it down and found another perfect place for it in the house.

As it has now been almost 6 months since the shopping mishap and I still haven't found what I'm looking for I am still mirror-less and desperate to finish the look of my place to tittewyt (get ready) and make myself look pretty. I am looking everywhere, but because I have a specific picture of what I want in my mind I am having no luck and the search continues.

I needed some inspiration as to how I can change this picture in my mind into something perhaps more readily available and accessible and these are some nice ideas that I might pursue:

I love this composition of antique mirrors, from here

Different shapes and sizes, each one uniquely beautiful, from here

There is something beautiful about the simplicity of this mirror, from here

Same shape, different sizes - I like this, from here

I don't think this will work in my bedroom, but how beautiful is this mirror? Wow!From here

So my search continues and I will let you know when I finally put something up.
Have a lovely day! xo
