the homestretch

i have three friends that delivered and welcomed their new babies into the world the past couple of weeks. as for me, my clock is ticking and if it is God's will by this time in 2 week's time i will be holding our new little boy in my arms. how exciting is that!

the more i reflect on the past months of this pregnancy and even thinking about when i was expecting little anton. i am overwhelmed by this amazing, natural process of life. i am humbled at how God can create a little human being and make it grow and develop into a person - a unique and perfect little person. i am honoured to have been able to experience this journey once already and standing at the finish line of this one i am praying that the last few days and the delivery will also run smoothly.

another expecting friend posted this verse yesterday and it spoke to me so directly i cannot help but recite it here today:

You lead me in the path of life; I experience absolutely joy in your presence;
you always give me sheer delight. Ps 16:11

my friends recently hosted a small baby-shower to celebrate the arrival of little hendrik and again i was overwhelmed by the love and support they all showed us. i tried to put into words how blessed my children were to already be shown such love even before birth, but it is not always easy when there are so many emotions brewing inside of you! i am grateful and humbled by the words and acts of support all through this pregnancy and blessed to have been shown such support and given such great baby spoils! it is the little things that make the entire journey more bearable and fun.

i suspect that i might be boring some of you with all my babytalk on Worded Reflections, please bare with me, this is one of the most important things in my life at the moment... have a blessed day xoxo

Perhaps I should start with the single most important thing that has consumed me for the last few months... Anton Christiaan Derksen, my crown prince and absolute favorite!

Will be back soon!

Good day all, so the last few weeks have been a bit mad with trying to get all my work done, sorting out the nursery and getting my life in order to allow for the special arrival of our little baby, Anton. In the next few weeks Anton is due to arrive and I cannot begin to express my excitement!

With this event being so soon around the corner I thought it best to take a break from a few of my everyday tasks and I will therefore also be taking a break from Worded Reflections for a while. I promise to be back soon with some news and pictures of the little one!

A pic taken by my sister a while ago... my stomach did grow a bit bigger than this!
I am looking forward to sharing my new adventures with you soon!!

For the little one

I am finally starting work on our new nursery this week! And after being tremendously spoilt by my family and friends with a surprise babyshower over the weekend, it is safe to say that I am now in full-on baby mode...

How lovely is this child's rocking horse by designer Marc Newson for Italian brand Magis?

A friend sent me some inspiration for our soon to be little prince's room... how great is this room previously featured on the Pretty Blog:

If all goes well and things run according to plan I will be posting some photos of my nursery in the next few days...

Have a lovely Tuesday evening all!

The most adorable thing ever!

When good news are delivered and people feel happy and excited it makes me smile too!

This picture is inspired by good news of little pink feet in blue or pink socks to enter the worlds of good friends and family.

May you feel blessed and happy on this special journey!

Waiting for the stork to arive

Today's post is especially for my various family members and friends who are expecting little ones in the next few months. I can assume that every mother would like to create a safe, functional and comfortable nest for their little ones and with that make the room as cute and beautiful as possible. Be it a little girl or boy, this will be where your little-one will spend many hours of the first few months of their lives and I have found some lovely and inspiring ideas out there - Enjoy!
