the homestretch

i have three friends that delivered and welcomed their new babies into the world the past couple of weeks. as for me, my clock is ticking and if it is God's will by this time in 2 week's time i will be holding our new little boy in my arms. how exciting is that!

the more i reflect on the past months of this pregnancy and even thinking about when i was expecting little anton. i am overwhelmed by this amazing, natural process of life. i am humbled at how God can create a little human being and make it grow and develop into a person - a unique and perfect little person. i am honoured to have been able to experience this journey once already and standing at the finish line of this one i am praying that the last few days and the delivery will also run smoothly.

another expecting friend posted this verse yesterday and it spoke to me so directly i cannot help but recite it here today:

You lead me in the path of life; I experience absolutely joy in your presence;
you always give me sheer delight. Ps 16:11

my friends recently hosted a small baby-shower to celebrate the arrival of little hendrik and again i was overwhelmed by the love and support they all showed us. i tried to put into words how blessed my children were to already be shown such love even before birth, but it is not always easy when there are so many emotions brewing inside of you! i am grateful and humbled by the words and acts of support all through this pregnancy and blessed to have been shown such support and given such great baby spoils! it is the little things that make the entire journey more bearable and fun.

i suspect that i might be boring some of you with all my babytalk on Worded Reflections, please bare with me, this is one of the most important things in my life at the moment... have a blessed day xoxo

being thankful

when i think of the days before the pitter patter of little feet running around the house it feels like light years ago! some days, i must admit, i long for the quiet, calmness of those days, but then again i cant really imagine not hearing those little footsteps, seeing his toys scattered about or even reacting on a distressed "mommy" every now and then.

i think most mothers would agree that its not always easy or fun being a mom, but it is the biggest pleasure in the world when those little arms hug you or that little mouth gives you a kiss. being a mom changed my world, changed me and changed the way our entire household operates. yes the days when it was just the husband and me were filled with a different kind of special, but this is fulfilling and it feels right.

we were blessed with a little blond angel (that sometimes acts like a little devil) and are soon to be parents of two - it feels a bit unreal and overwhelming, but i am ready. i am ready for the late nights, the early mornings, the responsibility and fear of caring for such a tiny, dependent, little human being. i am ready for the arrival of our new baby and waiting patiently to meet him.

as i said earlier its not always easy or fun, but being a mom is what i am meant to be, it is what i want to be and i pray everyday for strength to be patient, caring and loving. i pray for knowledge to always act in the right manner in specific situations and i pray for God's protection over my little family. and i am thankful, always.

not my greatest angle, but how precious is this moment?
my little blond prince. love

Being Thankful

Its Friday evening and I am just about to go to sleep. I am exhausted after a hectic week. Lately life can be quite demanding and this was a particularly busy week. BUT, and this is a very important but, I am happy!

I have a peacefull, healthy boy sleeping in his bed, I have a smiling, happy husband after I served him his favorite home baked venison pie tonight, I have clients who seem happy about the progress of their projects and I have a thankful heart for all that is right at this moment in time!
Psalm 138:1 will give You thanks with all my heart

I hope you have a happy and fullfilling weekend!

My homemade venison pie that I made for dinner tonight brought smiles all around.
